Map of Frederick CountyFormed from Prince George’s County in 1748, Frederick County originally included all of what are now Washington, Allegany, Garrett and Montgomery Counties, as well as part of Carroll County. Today, Frederick County is the largest county in land mass in Maryland.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Historical Society of Frederick County’s Marshall Etchison Bookstore helps to support the Historical Society’s many educational programs. The Bookstore carries local, regional, and Maryland history titles, family history research resources, children’s selections, general historical interest publications, gifts and note cards, and more. Historical Society of Frederick County members receive 10% off on all Bookstore orders!

The Bookstore is located adjacent to the Museum of Frederick County History at 24 East Church Street, Frederick. Hours of operation are Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (closed with museum schedule). Call 301-663-1188 with questions regarding ordering from or visiting the Bookstore. All prices are subject to change without notice.
